Take your pine needle basket weaving skills to the next level. Artist Elizabeth Bear will guide former students through new weaving and stitching techniques, using new materials. Learn how to incorporate polished stone and sliced black walnut to create ornate centers and create decorative stitching patterns. Join us at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, Saturday March 16 from 9:30-2:30pm to refine your technique and experiment with new materials while creating beautiful artwork. Each participant will make two baskets, one with a stone center and a second, using sliced black walnut. Please bring two sample baskets you have made since taking the introduction class, along with any questions, scissors and lunch. Limited to 12 participants. Pre-registration required. Please make sure to have participated in a pine needle basket weaving in the past. $100 Garden members / $130 public, and additional $30 materials fee for instructor.
