After a nation-wide search, our Pismo Beach City Council has selected Jorge Garcia as our new City Manager. The Council will consider his employment agreement at our October 3rd meeting. Garcia currently serves as our interim City Manager and previously was Assistant City Manager and Management Services Director. Garcia has been lead for several major projects for the City with the most important being our new $50 million public safety facility which consists of a new fire and police stations. We are delighted to have him lead our efforts to upgrade our City and improve our quality of life.

We celebrate our 77th Clam Festival this year on October 20 to 22. The Pismo Chamber puts on a wine walk on Friday afternoon. On Saturday at 10 am is the parade followed by Clam Chowder cook off at 1pm. We have live music, a beer and wine garden and a kids zone. Sunday we have a Kids clam rescue at 11am along with more live music and food and beverages.

Later in the month, we have Pumpkins in the Park at Dinosaur Caves on October 28th from 10am to 1pm. Children 12 & under are encouraged to participate in pumpkin decorating, games, crafts and bounce houses.
